Ten Years

Naomi | English Translation: Linda Yang

At sixteen, she had hair down to her waist.

Father grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head on the wall. He kicked her in the face until she was disfigured.

Through her tears, she saw Mother standing in the doorway, sneering.

Haha

At that time, she was so hopeless.
Her hopelessness is not because of what she had been through, but because everything had been done in the name of “love.”

Being chased by a knife-wielding lunatic is not frightening. What’s frightening is when that person is not a lunatic, but actually loves you a lot. Because people usually don’t meet lunatics, but they will meet one or two people who love them.
Many years later, she left the country, became a Christian.

From the Bible, she learned that the Lord Jesus loves her, and doesn’t want her to be sad.

Haha

Nobody would ever die for her.
But Jesus did die.

And He was very much alone when he died.
Good thing, he is risen, and brings news from heaven to those living a dead life.

The strength from the Holy Spirit, like gas from an oxygen tank, gave a purpose to keep on living for those hanging by a thread.

God’s will, she doesn’t know.
But the taste of God’s love, she knows well.

Things that defy logic, people whose lives that turned to joy and beauty.

Haha

To love and be loved is an innate desire.

Which girl doesn’t crave to be loved, to be protected?

And who knew that the one deeply in love with her, protecting her, is the Creator God?

Haha

Looking at the broken lives around her being restored by her God, seeing her own life renewed day by day.

She really can’t stop saying, Jesus Christ is her Lord and Saviour.
